Welcome To The Friends Of
RCC Forensics |
Dr. Nicolas Ferguson
2005 is an exciting year for the Friends of RCC Forensics as communication opportunities increase for students of the schools comprising the RCC District. Last year, we began collecting donations to initiate a kindergarten through twelfth grade program to reintroduce students to the many activities connected to the world of communication -- choral reading, public speaking, theatre, debate, mock trial, etc.
Several local school districts are currently working on implementation of the kindergarten through third grade part of the program. Thank you to the donors, retired and active teachers, Parent-Teacher Associations and Friends of RCC Forensics for their encouragement and cooperation in helping Corona-Norco, Moreno Valley and Riverside school districts launch this pilot program.
The Friends of RCC Forensics organization has been actively seeking grants. We are grateful for the $1,500 Riverside Youth Council grant that was recently approved. Do you have suggestions for other grant possibilities? If so, please let us know. Also, we are continuing our fund-raising efforts to create endowments through the RCC Foundation to finance annual scholarships and recognition programs throughout the K-12- College Pilot Program in the RCC District. You can help by making personal or corporate donations. Do you know the names of community leaders or businesses that can assist? Another way to help RCC Forensics “spread the word” to these groups is to ask professionals and business leaders as well as family and neighbors to join the Friends of RCC Forensics. See the back page of this Newsletter and sign up today to encourage all our students in their speech, drama and debate efforts.
